Turning Employee Recognition into a Branded Experience

Project Summary
Mahalo Moolah was a fully branded employee rewards program designed to boost engagement and celebrate performance. I led the creative strategy and execution, launching a multi-touchpoint system that transformed recognition into an interactive, high-energy experience.

The Challenge
Employee recognition existed — but it lacked visibility, excitement, and structure.
The goal was to create a program that:

  • Increased participation

  • Felt aspirational, not transactional

  • Simplified nomination and redemption

  • Delivered a cohesive brand experience across print and digital


The challenge: design a system robust enough to house 60 reward items and experiences — while keeping it intuitive, engaging, and visually compelling.

My Role
Creative lead from concept to rollout:

  • Developed program name and visual identity

  • Collaborated cross-functionally to source and curate 60 rewards

  • Designed all print and digital touchpoints

  • Managed print production and implementation


The Approach
Built a bold, cohesive visual system around the Mahalo Moolah theme — blending playful currency-inspired graphics with polished brand elements.
Key deliverables:

  • 36-page rewards catalog designed for clarity, hierarchy, and excitement

  • Custom branded “Mahalo Moolah” cash to gamify participation

  • Peer Nomination + order forms for seamless usability

  • On-site signage to drive awareness

  • Dedicated webpage for program access

  • Interactive digital flipbook version of the catalog

  • Peer Recognition Certificates

The design system ensured consistency across every touchpoint — from printed currency to digital interfaces.

The Solution
A fully immersive recognition program that felt less like HR paperwork — and more like a branded campaign.
The final rollout created a tangible, interactive ecosystem that made earning and redeeming rewards engaging and memorable.
